Privacy Policy — WhoWorks

WhoWorks does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information outside your own device.

What WhoWorks accesses

Your contacts. With your permission, WhoWorks reads your address book through Apple's Contacts framework in order to display it. This is the same address book used by the built-in Contacts and Phone apps. WhoWorks reads it directly each time it runs; it does not keep a separate copy. You can withdraw this permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Contacts. WhoWorks will show an empty state and nothing else.

What WhoWorks stores

Two small preferences, held on your device only:

• Your current zoom level
• Which contacts you have marked as favourites, stored as identifiers

Both are removed when you delete the app. WhoWorks also adds your contacts to Spotlight so you can find them from the home screen. That index is maintained by iOS on your device and is removed when you delete the app.

What WhoWorks does not do

• No network requests. WhoWorks has no server and contains no networking code.
• No account, sign-in, or registration.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
• No third-party services of any kind.
• Your contacts are never uploaded, shared, or sold.

Because nothing is transmitted, there is no data for anyone — including the developer — to access, disclose, or lose.

Changes to your contacts

Tapping a contact opens Apple's standard contact card, which allows editing. Any edits you make there are written to your device's address book by iOS, and sync according to your own iCloud or account settings. WhoWorks does not perform any syncing itself.

Children

WhoWorks contains no user-generated content, messaging, purchases, or advertising, and collects no data. It is suitable for all ages.

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Since WhoWorks collects nothing, any change would be to clarify rather than to expand data use.
